About this programme:

· A pilot project which commenced in April 2010 with the participations of 27 students from various kulliyyah and 6 entrepreneurship advisors from IIUM

· An internship training programme applying Consulting-based Learning Approach where interns are the training consultants for the selected local SMEs

· Run based on the principle of education and development, mutual interest and benefits towards local Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurship incubation

Objectives of this programme:

· To encourage collaboration between government, industry and academia for community and national development

· To nurture the entrepreneurial potential of students and to enable them to participate actively in business enterprises as well as promote self-employment.

· To evaluate the application of Consulting-based Learning Approach into Malaysia and to promote sustainable development of local SMEs

· To open the opportunity for all students to undergo internship training in the area beyond their background of studies and to diversify their employability value

· To promote entrepreneurship as a choice for career development for the university students

The final presentation ceremony

Students will present their findings from the 3 months internship as consultant to the representatives from SME Corp, MOHE, IPTAs, SME Bank and selected successful entrepreneurs .
